ACPME Photography and Video SIG – Canon R Series: Time to go Mirrorless?

January 27 @ 3:00 pm4:30 pm GMT

Canon R Series: Time to go Mirrorless?

Some photographers have been shooting mirrorless for years while some are still nervous about making the change.

The Canon 5D brought a whole new look to video production. It heralded rich, cinematic, shallow depth-of-field at a fraction of the price of dedicated professional video cameras.

In this SIG meeting, Dave Parry from Canon will take us through some of the features of the EOS R Series, including the brand new R3. Dave is an experienced photographer who has worked through the digital revolution and is an expert in the products on offer.

He will cover:

  • Pros and cons of the mirror v mirrorless systems
  • Advances in autofocus systems and which mode to use when
  • Working with new and old lenses, what happen when you use an adapter – which lenses fit and which don’t
  • Shooting video on the latest stills cameras versus dedicated video cameras
  • And more…..

If you have any questions for Dave to address, please let us know or feel free to ask during the session.

As usual, there will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions and to compare experiences with colleagues from universities and FEIs across the UK and internationally.
