Today I spent the day with members of the Association of Creative & Print Managers in Education (ACPME) for their \u2018Creative Climates\u2019 Virtual Event. I have to say they are a fantastic group of professionals from all over the UK and guests from overseas who all share a common goal. The virtual event enabled them to come together, share ideas, discuss common challenges and how to overcome them. There was a real sense of purpose, passion and positivity, it was great to see. <\/em><\/p>\n

It took a huge amount of effort by the ACPME team to make today a reality, and it was a privilege to be a small part of it and present on \u2018connecting, optimising and automating central communications\u2019 on behalf of\u00a0Konica Minolta as one of the sponsors.\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

\u2018Getting Creative in a Crisis\u2019\u00a0<\/strong><\/h5>\n

We heard Lightning Talks from four ACPME members of how they have adapted their services during the pandemic.<\/p>\n

Dene Fletcher (University of Reading) explained how Creative and Print Services supported the university and contributed to safe ways of working across their campuses, demonstrating huge savings with in-house large format print and installation.<\/p>\n

Andrew Brockbank\u00a0(Oxford Brookes University)\u00a0told us how Brookes Print\u00a0grasped\u00a0an opportunity to utilise its online shop (DSF)\u00a0to create a stationery click & collect service following the closure\u00a0of a store on their\u00a0main\u00a0campus.<\/p>\n

Paul Bishop (Sheffield Hallam University) covered how his team managed to ensure that the Print Department was an integral part of the plans to reopen the campus after the first lockdown.<\/p>\n

Helen Clarke\u00a0(Loughborough University) told us how she diversified services, providing PPE provision, signage, processing almost double the normal of parcels per day \u2013 including contactless covid-secure 24 hr lockers, flexing job descriptions and taking the opportunity to rewrite business plans, draft strategies and propose an overhaul\u00a0of\u00a0their financial model to define long-term security.<\/p>\n
