The 2022 theme is ‘Stronger Together’, we’ll be sharing each others’ successes and how they were achieved – highlighting best practice and looking at operational business models and strategic plans.

Discussion group topics will include:

•  Digital prospectuses – Pros and cons / no reduction in design time / cost savings over print / nothing physical for open days, events

•  Making the case for quality print in a digital environment – What can we do to keep promoting print as a vital and viable medium?

•  Environmental and sustainability issues – Can we justify print from a sustainability and environmental perspective? Is there a job to be done informing clients of the environmental sustainability of paper and the power of print?

•  Making the most of your designers’ side hustles – Most designers have a side hustle; design or illustrations they produce for themselves and their creative freedom or for more money – how can you bring that aspect into the HE/FE design studio and make it work
for you?

•  Acrobat and accessibility – Where are we with making design more accessible? How close can we get to 100% accessible?

Discussion group topics will include:

•  How remote/hybrid working affects our work •  How hybrid staff/student studies affects our work •  Budgeting for equipment •  Graduations and University events •  Working with your Social Media team •  Adobe software review •  Working with masks –  for subjects and crew •  A clear brief from clients and how much should we steer that… •  Departmental structures and service locations and responsibilities •  Charging or not charging – budget considerations for cost/non cost recovery

Andy Cope
Those who attended the Conference at Dunston Hall in Norwich will be as stoked as we are to learn Andy is returning to open this year’s event. We can’t wait to hear more from best-selling author, happiness expert and recovering academic.

And in case one Andy’s not enough… we’re also secured 

Andy Grant
Andy has been through more than most have in their lifetime. From losing his mother aged 12, to joining the Royal Marines, to serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, to being injured by an IED, becoming medically discharged and consequently facing life as an amputee.

Andy will close the conference and leave you ready to tackle whatever challenges life brings.
